Arthur Edwin Koenig
81, of Indianapolis died September 4, 2014. Arthur was born on October 24, 1932 Pocahontas County, Iowa to Joseph and Florence Carey Koenig. Arthur served his country in the US Army and later worked in Quality Control for Westinghouse/ ABB for over 40 years before retiring. He was a graduate of Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa and Indiana University Bloomington. He was also a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon R. McCoy Koenig, sons William J, Robert A, Richard T. Koenig, daughter Rebecca Koenig, brothers Lawrence, William Koenig, sister Jean Norton, grandchildren Robert A. Koenig Jr., Amanda R. King, Matthew J. Koenig, Sarah E. Koenig, great grandchild Lucas Stout-King and two expected great grandchildren later this year.
Services will be held Friday at 2:00pm in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow the services in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Arthur's memory to St. Francis Hospice or to the Wounded Warrior Project. I think of the Koenig Family every time I drive the 46 Bypass in Bloomington and look over to where your home was when my son, Kirby, was small and spent so many hours there. My deepest condolences for your loss. Art was an awesome man. May blessings and peace be with the entire family during this time.
