Condolence & Memory Journal

Dear Hinshaw Family,
We believe that we have lost one of the finest Masons/Shriners that we have ever had the honor to know. Craig was everything I wish we all could be. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. GOD bless you and your family, Kay.

Dear Kay, Trent, Matt and Mark,

It has been a great pleasure to have known Craig. We see a lot of Matt's good qualities coming from his Dad. Matt is also passing Grandpa's qualities on to Luke and Kate. Craig was a great example for your children to follow. We wish we could have been with you today to share his great celebration of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Hinshaw Family,
You are in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time. We were so sad to hear about Craig's passing and our deepest condolences go out to your family. He was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather and mentor and we are all so fortunate to have had him in our lives, and he was so fortunate to have passed in the company of his loving family. We wish we could be in Indy with you to share the memories of blessed life, and if there is anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate to ask.

Trent (Mr. Hinshaw to us!). When we saw your father's picture we could see the resemblance. We passed along the obituary to our son, Kyle, who you taught at Chapelwood. He replied back that he was sorry for your loss. We also convey our sympathy to you and your family.

Dear Kay,Trent,Matt,Mark and family,

We want you to know how sad we are to hear of Craig's passing. I treasure the many wonderful memories with your whole family over the years from the time we were swimming at Chapel Glen when I was six through our last visit when you and Mr. Hinshaw went out of your way to meet me for dinner when you were in Tampa a few years ago. You have such an amazing family full of not only great accomplishments but also love and humble respect, which all started with you and Craig. Mr. Hinshaw touched many lives and while he will no doubt be sorely missed here on earth, I'm sure he is sitting back looking down on us all from Heaven above. We pray that you heal through God's strength, hope and love during this difficult time. God Bless,

The Hinshaw family and our family were neighbors for all of my teenage years. We continued our friendship for many years after moving away from the neighborhood. My sincere sympathy to Kay and her children, and grandchildren. Love to the three sisters. Phyllis Robbins, old neighborhood friend.

One big regret when I left the ISDH, moved on with IDEM, is that I lost contact with Craig. We always got along with our chemistry needs, and beyond that, discussions about everything, in life in general. I enjoyed our discussions, one reason to always visit the lab and his office. We always had fun together, never had disagreements. Although it has been years since I've seen him, I was sorry to hear he is gone.

We miss Craig, our dear friend. Memories of cruises, card games, Indian Guides camping trips, and fun with neighborhood friends will sustain us. Craig was a wonderful example to his three boys and devoted to his wife, job, and friends. He had expectations for himself and everyone who knew him and a quiet dignity that made him special. He will always be in our hearts.
