Dear Meyers Family,
My son Vincent Culpepper met Emily at IU and he introduced her to his sister Carmen. Vincent and Carmen are heartbroken at losing their friend. They loved the days they spent with Emily in Bloomington. What a beautiful girl. I have heard many stories of her fun, free spirited personality. They have wonderful memories of her. We have all lost a lovely young woman and future teacher. Please accept the prayers for comfort and strength from the Culpepper family. To Emily's Family-

We only knew Emily for a short time when she watched our son Aedan but she touched our hearts and was amazing. He is a happy and smart baby all because of her. She worked with him on sitting and standing and was just beginning to get him to crawl. We loved our time spent with Emily and will cherish her memory. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Beth and Tom,

We've never met but I know of you because Emily spoke about you all the time. Emily was my neighbor last summer in Broad Ripple. Even though she was half my age, we had much in common. We were both working or practicing yoga at The Yoga Studio and runners. We spent many hours chatting in the front yard. We talked about yoga, running, food, recycling, planting basil and tomatoes, flowers, dating, living in Indiana, moving to Colorado, parents/family, Finwick, etc. She gave me advice on how to deal with my own 14 year old daughter. She watched our house while were on vacation and I would water her basil when she got too busy with other stuff. She was the best neighbor / friend a middle-aged woman could have. She was a caring, thoughtful, beautiful, old soul.

Simply... I miss her. My heart is crushed for your loss!

Emily was a childhood friend and classmate of mine at Orchard and Brebeuf and she was one of the sweetest people I knew. I don't recall ever being in a bad mood when Emily was around because her energy and beautiful smile lit up the room. She was mellow, thoughtful, sweet and always seemed mature beyond her years. She was beautiful and popular, but she was also kind to everyone. Emily was an all-around lovely girl and I feel lucky to have known her. My heart and prayers go out to the Meyers family. I am so truly sorry for your loss.

death, she still speaks" Henry Ward Beecher

Emily Rose was an amazing girl who will forever have made an impression on my life in the time I spent with her at Indiana University. I am so sorry for your loss.

Tom, I am so sorry to hear the terrible news. I wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with you and your family!

Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I only knew Emily as a child, but her beautiful, happy, carefree spirit will live in my memory forever. As a parent of children now who are about the age she was when I knew her, my heart simply shatters for her loving family. Wishing you peace and comfort, however unimaginable it must seem now.

My heart is broken, Em. I wish I could speak with you just one more time. You will shine on in the stars but we all miss you down here more than you could have ever imagined. You are so loved-always have been and always will be. I hope somewhere, somehow you know that. You are in my heart forever.

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam and for a brief moment it's glory and beauty belong to our world. ..but then it flies on again. .and though we wish it could have stayed. .we feel so lucky to have seen it.
