Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to John by adding your memories and photos.

John E. Struck, Jr., 72, of Carmel, passed away May 30, 2015, after a quick but courageous battle with IPF. He was born June 10, 1942, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late John E. Struck, Sr., and Jane Cullum Struck. Growing up in Savannah, Georgia, he graduated from Benedictine Military School in 1960, and attended Armstrong Junior College and Georgia Southern College before beginning his professional career with Continental Can Company. He and his family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1968, where he was a manufacturing representative for Blake and Johnson before moving to the Indianapolis area in 1976 and becoming co-owner of Pro-Tech Sales in 1977.

He was a long-time active member of Woodland Country Club and on its Board of Directors, in Carmel, where he resided for 38 years. He was also active in his "GAWD" golf group in Indianapolis, as well as Broad Ripple Sertoma, and was a big supporter of Little Sisters of the Poor. He loved his family, especially his grandkids, his many friends and his dog, Savannah. He enjoyed making people laugh and was an avid lover of all things sportā€”PGA, Colts, Pacers and UGA Bulldawgs.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Jacqueline; daughter Elizabeth (Joel) Williams, of Cincinnati; son Scott E. (Paula) Struck, of Carmel; daughter Tiffany (Josh) Smith, of Cincinnati; sister Jane Ellen Struck, of Savannah; and grandchildren Mei-Lin, Audrey, Caroline and Sawyer.

Please join us in celebrating his life from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel, and a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, in Carmel. Donations may be made to Broad Ripple Sertoma.

Dear Jackie and family, John was George Tiffany's best friend
and confidant. They met for breakfast daily and "solved the world's problems." Truly Blessed are those who have such friends in this life.

Dear Scott,
My sincere sympathy in the death of your father. I did not know him well, but I was close childhood friends with your mother, Pam Saunders Struck until she died when you were a baby. We lived on the same block on 40th St in Savannah, went to school together, and shared many good times throughout her life. I knew your grandmother, Jane, your grandfather, Rabb, and your Uncle Billy. Please know that you and your family will be in my prayers

God's Peace,

My deepest sympathy goes out to John's family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with John for 15+ years as he represented Dynamic Stampings, Inc. We spoke on the phone many times over the years and I had gotten to know your family through John's excited stories of all of you. He was a joy to work with and will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you morn the loss of a wonderful person.

Our love, thoughts and prayers have been with you daily through Johnny's long struggle. Mike and my brother Michael (McDonough) were classmates of Johnny - Class of 1960 -Benedictine. I was pleased in reading the obituary to learn that Johnny was a big supporter of the Little Sisters of the Poor. My sister, Theresa McDonough - Sr. Clare of St John the Baptist - is a member of the Congregation of the Little Sisters and resides now in Boston. She knew Johnny as well when she was a Benedictine cheerleader. I am also a good friend of Ellen's. Please extend our condolences to all of your wonderful family and let them know we will be with you all in spirit during the services. God Bless you all!
With love,
Mike and Bernadette Winters
