Tribute & Message From The Family

William James "Bill" Irwin

61, Norwalk, Connecticut, died unexpectedly on June 16, 2015. He was born in Indianapolis to the late H. William and Sally L. Irwin. Bill graduated from Pike High School and DePauw University, where he was an active member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.

He is survived by his brother, Mike (Suzanne) Irwin, two nieces, Stephanie (Jeff) Quinto and Emeli (Matt) Bowers, and the four children of his nieces, Nick and Lauren Quinto and Lilly and Will Bowers.

Bill engaged in a number of careers throughout his life, the most notable being in the restaurant and gourmet food and vegetable businesses. He liked being surrounded by his friends and loved planning and throwing parties for them. While his life had its ups and downs Bill always kept a positive and upbeat attitude and a sense of humor. He closely followed sports, politics, and world events, and had a wealth of knowledge in these areas. He was liked by all he met.

There will be a family service for Bill later this summer in the place he and his family love the best, Pentwater, Michigan.

Memories of Bill can be shared with family and friends at www.flannerbuchanan.com.

Condolence & Memory Journal

So many fun & happy times with Bill, Bilby - Bebo !!!! A one of a kind guy. The countless hours we spent together as kids growing up holds a special place in my heart. He made so many sandwiches at my house he knew where things were in the kitchen better than I did. Although we had not spoken as much recently, it still saddens me so just knowing he is not around. He was a very dear friend to me

I remember in second grade Billby invited me to his birthday party. Just before it was time to go I started having that kid shyness and told my Dad I did not want to go. He encouraged me to reconsider and I did go. I remember sheepishly knocking on the door, Billby greeting me with a big smile, throwing his arm around my shoulder and how glad I was to be there with him and all of our friends!

So sorry to read of Bill's sudden passing. I knew Bill in High School when he and a couple of friends, Peter & Bill M. worked a tournament at Woodstock Club. We had great times that summer! I express my condolences to my friends from our MSUMC days, Mike & Suzanne and their girls. May knowing you are in the thoughts and prayers of others help to ease your burden and surround you with love. Peace and comfort to you all at this difficult time.
