Virginia R. Munsell, 85 of Carmel, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at her home. Virginia was born January 22, 1930 in St. Louis, MO to the late Harry and Marie Graeff. She was a graduate of Fontbonne College in St. Louis.

Virginia was a docent for the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the St. Michael's Maritime Museum in Maryland. She also volunteered at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Virginia was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Twin Lakes Golf Club. She was a life-time member of the Indianapolis Sailing Club. Ginger and Charlie loved sailing; after decades of sailing Geist, they sailed the Chesapeake Bay and the Intercostal. She was an avid reader and bridge player and was a member of several bridge groups.

A memorial Mass will be held Friday, July 24 at 11:00 am in the chapel at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery 9001 N. Haverstick Road, Indianapolis.

Virginia was the widow of Charles D. Munsell. She is survived by her children, Charles D. (wife, Carol) Munsell, III, Jane M. (husband, Joseph) Gardner and Susan E. (husband, Drew) Plousis; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Catherine Rentz. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Graeff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Merciful Help Center or St. Augustine's Home Little Sisters of the Poor.
