Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Jeanne by adding your memories and photos.

Jeanne Marie Kristoff, 52, born in Amherst, Ohio, passed away September 9th, 2015, just weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.
Jeanne was devoted to her family and loved nothing better than getting everyone together at her house to play games, watch movies, swim in the pool, or socialize. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, and reading and she enjoyed all things involving history. She adored her 3 dogs Sheba, Buddy and Buster, and her cat Sheila. Jeanne was always giving of her time and herself to anyone she knew, and even to strangers. She touched the hearts of countless people and will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
Jeanne was a key member of the Synchrony Financial team, successfully leading and managing billion dollar deals. As a subject matter expert and business partner, Jeanne led countless client conversions, transfers, new startups, and major cross functional initiatives. The legal team would not sign off without her approval. She was best known across multiple business teams as OSU Jeanne, as she started every conference call with the Ohio State fight song because her husband went to OSU, even though she attended Wittenberg University.
She is survived by her husband Michael Kristoff, her mother Georgetta Palmer, her Grandmother Mary Salcian, sisters Sherri Freeland (Paul), Mary Kay Malensek (Terry), Kelly Hostettler (Brian); brother Mike Palmer; sisters-in-law Karen Neil, Letty Lundholm (Kevin), Patty Kristoff, Mary Ranalli (Mike); brother-in-law John Kristoff Jr; 8 nephews, 10 nieces, 7 grand-nephews, 6 grand-nieces.
Memorial service to be held on Saturday, September 12th at 2pm at: Flanner & Buchanan-Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Dr., Carmel, IN 46032. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the home before and after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Jeanne Marie Kristoff Memorial Fund, C/O RCF, 6100 W. 96th St., Suite 105, Indianapolis, IN 46278

Condolence & Memory Journal

I only knew Jeanne as a manager for maybe 2 years early in my career. She was a truly formative mentor... tough, fair, and effective. Over 10 years later, her professional advice still matters to me. I use it and pay it forward often. Sincere condolences.

I worked with Jeanne on several projects throughout the years. She was that perfect blend of a tiger in business, who also remembered birthdays, and sent Christmas cards. She and Sally and I were on a few Stein Mart conference calls where our dogs were talking over us - as we all work from home.

Jeanne leaves a hole in SYF that will be next to impossible to fill, and a similar one in our hearts.

I've worked with Jeanne on many projects throughtout the years as part of the Business Intigration team for Accounting. She was always organized and driven to get it done. She will be truly missed at SYF. My heart and prayers go out to her family during this difficult time.

I was shocked & deeply saddened when I learned of your passing. You are one of the smartest, sweetest & toughest ladies that I know. I will never forget how every time I saw you I would say "JK when I grow up I wanna be just like you" you would laugh and say "Honey...No you don't!!" I appreciate your mentoring. You were a great were always available & gave solid advice. You always told me that I knew my stuff & made me feel valued despite the difference in our positions. I thank you for everything that you taught me & I will never forget you!!

My dear Jeanne- Your friendship of more than 20 years is one that I will cherish all my life. From our first meeting at Sears Credit through our collaboration at GE, and our longer distance, but always special conversations in the last few years, our connection has endured. I have long admired your focus, positive attitude, and deep understanding of life. I will keep you in my heart always. My thoughts and prayers are with Michael and your family.

Deeply sadden, I am honored to have worked with you, whether it be a "woo who" for hitting a milestone, or a question asked on a call "who is that speaking?" or that statement, "hold on a minute", your unique style and professionalism will be remembered as being our great leader and mentor. I will always remember your beautiful smile as u accepted the homemade "Buckeyes" from Ohio.

While I am sad , I have to say though that as I remember you Jeanne I can't do anything but smile, acceptance, kindness, generosity, compassion, caring - these are the words that come to mind when I think of you. Sadly I say to you," I will see you later Jeanne".

I worked with Jeanne on some projects while I was a First Data consultant. The Ohio State football song was something we talked about, since I rooted for the University of Nebraska. We had some fun discussions on the merits of both teams. I will miss her knowledge and great outlook on life.
