Condolence & Memory Journal

Growing up in Cool Creek, Ron Hartman ("Mr. Hartman") was so much more than a neighbor, and even more than "Mike's Dad" (which says a lot -- just look at Alex and Jenna to see all the evidence you will need!). He was the prankster who would "lock" the back wheel of my bike to its frame with kite string, so I couldn't seem to get it moving and couldn't figure out why! He was the quiet but ever present parent, keeping the watchful eye without us ever knowing, encouraging us to grow. And he and Marilyn were there for my family in some of the most difficult times in our lives, with dignity and care. Though I know he is at peace, I am so sorry for his loss -- all my love to Marilyn, Mike, Alex, Jenna, Jeff and Jacob.

My Dad was my hero. I was truly blessed to be his son. Growing up, Dad either coached or attended every event that I participated in. I was extremely lucky to have a father that taught me the difference between right and wrong. Dad taught me the importance of how to work hard and how to always believe in myself. He always treated my friends as part of the family.

As an adult, when I needed help, Dad was always by my side. When I was hurting, Dad stepped in and saved my life. He was my best friend.

Dad loved his family. He loved spending time with his grandkids. Alex and Jenna loved spending time in Carmel with grandma and grandpa.

My Dad taught me to recognize those things that really matter in life: faith, love, family and friends.

My Dad was my hero

I miss you

Hartman Family (Mike),
So very sorry for your loss. Your dad was my baseball coach and had a large impact on my life. He was a great coach and even better man.
