Dear Imelda,

We give you our sympathy. I worked with Mike from his starting at Herff Jones, Nystrom and moved along with him to Indianapolis. It was really a pleasure working with him and we shared many a laugh. He was a special person who was liked by all.

My wife and I met you for the first time at the home of Ginny Rudis. My wife is from England.

Our condolences to you and your family.

Dear Imelda,

It was so good to meet you this summer, but I'm really sad to hear about your loss. It is clear from all the messages about Michael that he was a dear, good man, well-loved by so many. Today will be a very tough day for you and your family, but it will be a time for everyone to show their love and respect for him, and it will be an important memory for you and the children.

It is eleven years since Jeremy's dad died, at a young age as your Dad did, and not a day has gone by without us thinking about him, sharing great memories, talking to Ciara and Euan about him, playing his favourite music, laughing about his jokes and funny times together.
You will never lose the riches of your time together.

Right now you may be thinking, as I did, that you can't go on. I totally understand that feeling, and it will continue for a while. But don't ever despair: gradually you will find a strength to bring you through the dark times. The best advice I was given: Keep busy!!!

We'll all think of you today, honouring your lovely man.

Warm wishes,

Diana

Dear Maryann, Margaret and Meghan
I sadly never got to meet your Dad, but I have heard so many wonderful stories about him.
I am writing to you to say that words are the only thing I can send to you.
I know how proud your parents are of you girls.
You will keep each other calm as you battle this terrible storm that you are in right now.
You will look after your Mum while she looks after you.
You are a very close family and you will stay strong for each other and
I look so forward to meeting you in person whether it is on my soil or on yours.
God Bless you

Dear Imelda,

I was fortunate to visit you at your home around this time fifteen years ago. Mike and I were class mates and friends at St Mary's for 5 years and his outlook, his determination and his true honesty have had a definite and lasting influence on my own life. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing and the thoughts and prayers of myself and my family will be with you at the very sad time.

To all the O'Connors, it was a pleasure to come to know Mike through our work at Herff Jones. He was always an easy guy to locate, because of his commanding baritone voice. He would have been a great stage actor because he wouldn't need a microphone to reach to back seats. He loved his Irish heritage, his English family, anything to do with Chicago and most of all his family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you this week.

To Mike's Family
I got to know Mike in high school at St Mary's College Galway .Both he and Dessie O Sullivan were the two "tough guys" from Chicago who brought a whole new perspective to our school and our lives. I was Mike's friend for quite a while before I discovered thar his Dad had grown up with my Dad in Galway, prior to emigrating to the U.S. Small world huh!!! Mike and I lost touch for a few years after school but eventually hooked up again and it was so easy to pick up where we left off. He was that kind of friend.
I have good memories of Mike and his great sense of humour.

Dear Mike's Family - I am very sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Mike. I worked with Mike at Herff Jones and he was always helpful, pleasant and an all around nice guy. I remember his distinguished voice so well. I could always tell when he was in the building by the sound of his voice. I pray for God's comfort and healing during this very difficult time.

To Imelda, Maryann, Meaghan & Margaret - I worked with Mike for many years at Herff Jones. His good nature, business accomplishments and friendship was valued by me and so many others. One of my favorite memories was the O'Connor family's annual visit with the Herff Jones Santa Claus. The girls were happy to see St. Nick and always dressed so beautifully. How proud a father and husband was Mike of his family. A good man who will be missed, however many memories to treasure. "Love...bears all things, believes all things and endures all things. Love never ends." 1 Corinthians 13:7-8.

To Mike's family: Although we've never met, I wanted you all to know how in a short time Mike had become a friend to me while working together at Herff Jones. He helped me out greatly and for that I am forever grateful. May Jesus, Mary and Joseph be with him always.

My family and I were sad to learn of Mike's sudden passing on Sunday. Having worked closely with him for about 13 years, we developed a strong bond as colleagues and more importantly as friends. Mike was truly a talented, honest and kind man who always had a kind word for his friends and co-workers. I'm thankful for the time he shared with me and will miss him greatly. To Imelda and his daughters, I'm sorry distance will keep me from attending the upcoming services. You all will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
