Kete also was the Medical Director at St. Vincent's Stress Center for 10 years, served several terms as Director of the Indiana Physicians Assistance program and the Indiana Nurses Assistance Program. In 1983 he married his best friend, Nancy Perrey Cockrell and they shared a very loving marriage for 32 years. Kete enjoyed many activities during his life including: golfing (his favorite), skiing, traveling, attending plays, and movies. He was also a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts and had been a member of CCI, Country Club of Indianapolis.

Back in the early 1970's I was new to Indianapolis, new to Indiana and needed a doctor, I found Dr. Cockrell in the phone book and he was down the street from where I lived. I am so glad that I happened to find him, he was a wonderful doctor. He was what all doctors should aspire to be, a good doctor, knew what he was doing and spot on treatment. I missed being his patient when he moved his practice. I think I measured all future doctors based on having him as a doctor. My condolences to his family, I know he will be sorely missed. Prayers and thoughts with the family. Ann Pitcock, patient

Myself and husband had the pleasure of meeting doctor Cockrell slightly over a year ago. He was truly an amazing and understanding doctor. He will be greatly missed by these two patients, no doubt about it. It was a blessing to have him as our doctor. This world truly lost a good guy! Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially Nancy.

I had the pleasure of working with Doctor Cockrell at IMG and Brougher Plaza. Doctor Cockrell would kindly help me understand the difference problem and challenges my father and brother would have to deal with their different health issue. He could always put a smile on your face. Doctor Cockrell will be greatly miss.
