Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Elliot by adding your memories and photos.

Elliot Lese, 81, Carmel, passed away on October 4, 2015. He was born February 17, 1934, on Long Island, NY.

He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, received an MBA from St. John's University, and was a CPA. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard on active duty for 2 years and as a reserve officer for 25 years.
After a long career in banking, he spent his retirement helping others by volunteering. He was truly a man of God, dedicating his life to God's work, in addition to his family.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Lori and adoring daughters, Kathi and Maureen, and loving brother, Henri Lese and family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3352 West 30th Street. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a hospice, a mental health organization, or a charity of your choice.

I never had the opportunity to meet Mr Lese personally though I felt I knew him through his daughter Kathi. I know Mr Lese was loved by many and he helped raise to beautiful and honorable daughters. I pray to God to bring Mrs Lese, Kathi, and Maureen comfort and His love and protection especially through this difficult time. May Mr Lese be As Blessed in Heaven as he was on this earth - Rest in peace sir.
With Sympathy,
Barb, Ray, Zack, & Chelsea

ELLIOT AND I MET AND BECAME FRIENDS WHILE WE WERE BOTH INVOLVED WITH THE VOICE OF THE FAITHFUL GROUP, A GROUP OF CATHOLIC LAYPEOPLE WHO WERE RESPONDING TO CLERGY SEX ABUSE OF CHILDREN A FEW YEARS BACK. SINCE THEN ELLIOT AND I HAVE HAD MONTHLY OR AT TIMES MORE OFTEN, LUNCHES TOGETHER. ELLIOT WAS A BRILLIANT MAN, A MEMBER OF MENSA WHOSE MEMBERS MUST HAVE AN IQ OF AT LEAST 150. I FELT HONORED TO BE AMONG THOSE ELLIOT CALLED AND CONSIDERED "FRIEND." I WILL MISS HIM GREATLY.

I did not know your husband and father, but chaplains here at St.Vincent on 86th have spoken so highly of his Eucharistic Ministry here for patients. As one of them recalled, Elliot would come on short notice when needed. I will keep you and him in prayer.

I worked with Elliot for many years at hospice. We talked weekly about family and football mostly. He was a dear man and I enjoyed our chats. He always referred to his wife as his boss. He always asked about my daughter. I respected all the volunteer work he did. Elliot was a great man and I miss him. I am sorry for his family and their loss.
