Obituary

James Francis Schroeder Jr. (Jim) 62 passed away peacefully on October 8, 2015. He was born on October 10, 1952 in Detroit, MI to James Francis Schroeder Sr. and Geraldine Schroeder. Over the past two and half years, following his brain surgeries, he struggled with many health problems and significant limitations. Jim's family and friends mourn his loss and celebrate his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Daniel Schroeder. He leaves to cherish his memory son, Benjamin Schroeder, daughter, Emma Schroeder, 10 brothers and sisters, Fran Shreve, Jan (George) Miller, Ed (Theresa) Schroeder, Pete (Joy) Schroeder, Amy (Tom) Gallagher, Marion (Frank) Adams, Mike (Patrice ) Schroeder, John (Jamie) Schroeder, Ann (Bob) Caskey, Joe (Allan) Schroeder, numerous nephews and nieces and many friends.
Jim graduated from St. Roch grade school, Cathedral High School and Indiana University, with a master's degree in Social Work. Jim's career included counseling, at both Pendleton Correctional Facility and Fairbanks Hospital. Later in life, he enjoyed many successful years as a real estate broker, assisting his clients with choosing homes, in which to raise their families.
Jim, a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend, spent countless hours supporting his children's activities from PTA, wrestling, soccer and show choir at Crooked Creek Elementary, Westlane Middle and North Central High schools. He worshiped at The Garden, involved in their Outreach and Hospitality teams. He loved his family, the Colts, IU basketball and the Red Wings!
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2015, 5:00 p.m. at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center, Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, with calling from 2:00 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, honor Jim's memory with donations to the American Cancer Society or The Alzheimer Association.
