Dennis A. Shaul 62, Plainfield, died January 2, 2008. Dennis was born to the late Eldon and Mabel Shaul on December 1, 1945.

He was a graduate of Crete-Monee High School in Crete, Illinois. Dennis then went on to the University of Illinois, receiving his Bachelor's Degree. He was a Life Member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association. He was also a graduate of Butler University, receiving his Master's Degree. Dennis worked at Northview Middle School as a band director for 33 years before retiring in 2001. He was also a consultant for Paige's Music and an administrative assistant for the Lions of Indiana State Office. He was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Education Fraternity, Music Educators National Conference, Indiana Music Educators Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, and Indiana Retired Teachers Association. He was also a judge for Indiana State School Music Association, a life member of Lions Club International, and a past District Governor of District 25-F Lions of Indiana. Dennis was an Assistant Dean for Hoosier Boys State and was Past President of the Nora Lions Club. Dennis received many awards and honors such as, The Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow for Lions Club, Progressive W.P. Woods Fellow charter member, and 25 year Outstanding Educator from the Indiana State School Music Association.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 40 years, Frances J. (Wilson) Shaul, children; Liane J. (Jay) Harrold and Alan W. Shaul; grandchildren, Matthew L. and Rachel E. Harrold, sister; Carol (Jim) Tiller, and a brother; Bradley (Dorothy) Shaul.

Services will be Monday, January 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Legacy Funeral Center, where friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
