Kenneth W. Dorsett 74, of Indianapolis passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008. Mr. Dorsett worked at Ford Motor Company for 41 years as Floor inspector retiring in 1998. Ken was a member of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church; he was a very active man, played football, baseball and basketball in high school. He also attended Indiana University and received his paralegal degree. Ken coached CYO Football and had been Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Frances; children, Virginia (Don) Crawford, Danny, Timothy (Ellen), and Clay Dorsett; grandchildren, Mary Elise Dorsett, Katie (David) Osting, Joe (Tarena) Sullivan; great grandchildren, Aaron Sullivan, and a baby boy on the way to arrive in October; step grandchildren, Tonia Maynard, and Matthew Crawford; and sisters, Betty Hoover, and Phyllis Westerfield. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Dora Dorsett; and sisters Virginia Noel, and Mary Frances Acton. Friends may call at Legacy Funeral Center at Memorial Park on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
